The passito of the winemaker of Verona looks to the past to tell the present of the company: the inspiration from the ancient wine of the native village of Brognoligo

From a winemaking tradition handed down from father to son, a careful selection of grapes and an artisanal method preserved over time , Giannitessari's Monte Duello , passito of durella grapes, is born . The sweet wine produced historically in the village of Brognoligo , a hamlet of Monteforte d'Alpone, inspired the winemaker from Roncà (VR) . Gianni Tessari was born and raised in this village in the province of Verona, here he took his first steps in the production of wine starting from the strictly artisanal method handed down from his father Fulvio. Monte Duello embodies the growth and philosophy of Gianni Tessari, who then arrived in Roncà where he decided to bet on the enhancement of three terroirs , each different but complementary, in the DOC Soave, Monti Lessini and Colli Berici. “ Monte Duello is perhaps the wine most linked to my origins - explains Gianni Tessari - My story as a winemaker begins in the family vineyards of Brognoligo. The passion and the desire to reach new goals led me to explore new territories, new techniques and varieties, but the link with the origins remains strong. An example is the company logo , where the stylized drawing of the church and bell tower of the village where I was born is represented ”. After the drying of the grapes in the loft, the refinement of Monte Duello takes place in French oak vats without protection from oxidation, inspired by the traditional sweet wine of Brognoligo. Monte Duello presents the complex aroma of the passito, intense and sweet on the palate, leaving room for a persistent and unexpected finish thanks to a decisive freshness typical of durella grapes. The number of bottles produced of Monte Duell o is 2 thousand of 500 ml, sold in a wine shop at a price of around 26 euros.
