The First Vegan Wine: a new Certification

  • 26/05/2014

A Pinot Noir wine from Trentino the first certified vegan.

The Aldeno Cooperative Winery has traveled the long process to obtain the vegan certification by the Ethical and Environmental Certification.

The vegan wine, as well as being organic, must not show signs of animal products such as gelatin and albumin, first of all.

A great success for the wine, until the 2016 production there are no more bottles available.

The director of the winery said: «We started from the fact that our President Alessandro Bertagnolli is a vegan, even if not of strict observance, so we wanted to see if it was possible to make a wine for this category of people, and the result was excellent from every technical point of view, the wine is of good quality, and is much appreciated by the commercial point of view. It should be noted that we started from an already selective base of organic wine, and then we came to the last step. But we do not intend to stop here and we want to produce wines without sulfites with the organic protocols, too».
