Wine tourism, events and communication are the assets of the recovery

Attention to the territory, enhancement of the enotourist heritage of the "crescent" of Italy's best-known wine, events dedicated to the press and relaunch of the social campaign: these are the ingredients of the recovery promoted by the Consortium for the Protection of Collio Wines to support the restart of the sector after the complex months that have just passed. The data presented on the bottling of the first five months of 2021 give some oxygen and create the basis for a context on which to work at best during the summer season. 2,788,365 bottles produced by the Collio Doc companies in the months of January - May 2021 against the 2,423,869 of the same period last year. " A trend - comments David Buzzinelli, President of the Consorzio Tutela Vini Collio - which marks an increase of 15% which is generating a wave of trust in producers that we needed and which must now push us to make the most of our territory, the real engine we have at our disposal for a solid and lasting recovery . "

A magical and unique area that of Collio, known and appreciated in the world as one of the most prestigious wine-growing areas thanks to its particular environmental conditions which over time have favored the development of quality viticulture and the production of excellent white wines, characterized from a marked minerality and a great longevity.

" As a Consortium - continues President Buzzinelli - we are planning and implementing various initiatives aimed at communicating and making the most of our extraordinary oenological heritage. In the days that have just passed, it hosted an unprecedented edition of the Enjoy Collio event which this year, due to of the restrictions dictated by the health emergency, saw the participation of foreign and Italian press journalists who were able to experience the area immersing themselves in the beauty of nature and in the thousand shades that this land has to offer. At the same time, the wineries are now ready to host visitors again offering them tastings in the cellar to discover our magnificent wines, but not only. Those arriving in the Collio can enjoy beautiful walks or bike rides along nature tours that cross vineyards, hills and unmissable villages, have fun with ad hoc activities for the whole family, relax in living rooms in absolute safety embellished with high-level food and wine proposals, and totally immerse yourself in a territory capable of expressing a strong sense of belonging and dedication to a land as complex as it is fascinating, where different identities have coexisted for centuries among vineyards, uncontaminated nature, art and culture ".

With an area of 1500 hectares of vines and a unique microclimate for ventilation and temperature range , able to marry perfectly with the "ponca", the characteristic soil of the Collio made of marl of Eocene origin, the Collio is in fact a perfect mix capable of combining nature, culture, oenology and gastronomy. An area that brings to mind a wonderful succession of slopes where the best white wines of Italy are produced from native vines such as Malvasia, Ribolla Gialla and Friulano , alongside a universe of international vines.
