The cellar of the year 2014 bears the signature of an architect from Bergamo. The special prize will be awarded by Gambero Rosso to the Collemassari winery, in the Grosseto area, designed in 2000 by Edoardo Milesi, a 59-year-old architect from Bergamo with a design studio in Albino, and which will receive this prestigious award during the Vini d'Italia event: three glasses on 19 October in Rome to coincide with the annual presentation of the Gambero Rosso Guide.

The award that will go to the Tuscan winery in the Grosseto hinterland, producer of excellent wines and the award-winning Brunello di Montalcino docg, is aimed at the quality of the wine produced directly linked to the architectural structure of the cellar designed by Milesi.

La Cantina di Collemassari, "is the result of a careful and innovative design whose goal is to be functional to the creation of a wine with a high biological content - says Milesi-: on the typically Tuscan hill ridge there is a building, a wooden box underground, from which a terrace emerges according to a vertical structure from which it is possible to transform the grapes into wine by means of a "gravity drop" process without ever using electromechanical pumps ».
