“THE FLAVORS OF PIEDMONT FASSONE MEAT AND EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL FROM MONFERRATO MEET THE DOCG AND DOC WINES OF THE LANDS OF ALERAMO

Appointment for Friday 8 December at 10.30, in the Torrione room of the Ancient Castle in Piazza Carlo Alberto in Moncalvo (Asti).

An unmissable event promoted by the Barbera d'Asti and Vini del Monferrato Consortium scheduled for Friday 8 December at 10.30 am , in the Torrione room of the Antico Castello in Piazza Carlo Alberto in Moncalvo, in the province of Asti, where it will be staged the seminar entitled "The flavors of Piedmontese Fassone meat and extra virgin olive oil from Monferrato meet the DOCG and DOC wines of the Terre di Aleramo" . The event, organized in collaboration with the "Astesana Wine and Food Route" and the Moncalvo Wine Shop as part of the 385th National Fair of His Majesty the Fat Ox and the 18th Extra Virgin Olive Oil Exhibition del Monferrato , aims to be a real moment of training as well as information intended for operators and consumers aimed at enhancing the great wines and extraordinary meats of the territory, protagonists, together with the highly prized Monferrato oils, of this truly special food and wine seminar. “As a Consortium – declares Vitaliano Maccario, President of the Barbera d'Asti and Vini del Monferrato Consortiumwe firmly believe in the value of the synergies and connections that can arise between the excellences of our territory. This event well represents this spirit, driven by the intention of celebrating three undisputed protagonists of our agri-food chain. Our wines, as well as the meats and oil of Monferrato, are in fact products of the highest quality, which tell, each in their own story, the vocation for food and wine quality of our territory". And he adds: “For us it is a privilege to be able to accompany chef Paolo Ghi's recipes with the wines of our Consortium, which protects 13 great Doc and Docg and with its 12 thousand hectares alone represents a third of the Piedmontese Doc and Docg vineyard production ”. “This is an initiative open to consumers and enthusiasts – explains Stefano Chiarlo, President of the Astesana Wine and Food Routeto discover the flavors of Piedmontese breed Fassone meat and extra virgin olive oil from Monferrato paired with extraordinary Doc and Docg of the Lands of Aleramo" . Adds Augusto Olearo, President of the Bottega del Vino di Moncalvo , “It is an event that we hope will be the first of a long series and which seeks to enhance and make consumers appreciate on the one hand the qualitative, nutritional and health characteristics of Piedmontese breed meat and , on the other hand, to discover in our territory the new olive production reality of Monferrato in the presence of the producers" . A sensorial journey where chef Paolo Ghi of the Hotel School of Agliano Terme and Asti will "tell" the distinctive organoleptic, nutritional and health properties of Piedmontese breed meat and the versatility of use in the gastronomy of Monferrato also with a series of recipes and typical proposals of local cuisine. The dishes being tasted will be paired with the Doc and Docg wines of Terre di Aleramo, Grignolino d'Asti Doc, Freisa d'Asti Doc, and Barbera d'Asti Docg in particular. All enriched by the extra virgin olive oils of Monferrato producers who have recently undertaken the work of selecting fine cultivars suitable for Monferrato. These excellences will find an overall synthesis in the coming months in a journey of wine, extra virgin olive oil and food from the Aleramo area as a local wine tourism offer.
