After three years of positive signs, the balance of the Veneto agri-food trade balance in the first nine months of 2022 has returned to being negative, given that it should settle at around -690 million euros , against the 140 million euros of the same period of 2021. The result, still provisional considering that it refers only to the first three quarters of 2022, was influenced by the strong increase in imports (32.4%) compared to the growth in exports (15.1%) . The causes of these negative results must be sought in the increase in the prices of agricultural raw materials and energy costs which have distorted the positive trends recorded in the Veneto region in recent years.
The details of the Veneto agri-food import/export in 2022, together with the economic-productive indicators of the various agricultural sectors, including the number of employees and the number of companies active in agriculture, the agricultural area, production by single sector, etc. are contained in the eagerly awaited Report on the trend of the Veneto agri-food sector in 2022 which will be presented to the press on 1 February (12:00) in Verona on the occasion of "Fieragricola Tech".
The Regional Councilor for Agriculture Federico Caner will also speak at the press conference .
