Andreola, a farm in Farra di Soligo, producers of Valdobbiadene DOCG, is a rapidly growing and expanding reality, which in recent years has decided to broaden its horizons. In fact, the company has acquired 9 hectares of land planted with vines in the hamlet of Carmegn, in the municipality of Sedico, in the heart of the Belluno Dolomites.
“ Since 1984, we have set ourselves the ambitious goal of expressing, through our bubbles, the true essence of our territory ” says Stefano Pola “The heroic viticulture in Valdobbiadene is undoubtedly one of the most distinctive and identifying features of our production. Fatigue and verticality are concepts deeply rooted in the company philosophy. Hence, the desire to move even higher. As pioneers of the heroic, today the new challenge is that of mountain viticulture ”. The Carmegn vineyard, planted with Traminer Aromatico and Riesling Renano, is located on a plateau, about 650 meters above sea level, with a South-West exposure and soil conditions particularly suitable for viticulture. “The soil has excellent characteristics: it is of medium texture, with the presence of calcareous debris typical of mountain areas, where some bands bring out cemented sands to form sandstones and areas in which marls emerge, i.e. old clays” explains Mirco Balliana, oenologist by Andreola “ A land with excellent drainage and aeration capacity, capable of giving life to wines with a marked olfactory finesse. We are sure the grapes of this land will give us a lot of satisfaction ”. For the first time, therefore, Andreola goes beyond the territorial boundaries of the Valdobbiadene DOCG denomination, and accepts a new challenge that looks to the nearby Dolomites, consistently diversifying its "heroic" production. The first wines produced with the grapes of this new acquisition - a Traminer Aromatico and a Riesling Renano - will be offered to the market with a new brand - STEFANO POLA, mountain winemaker - and with an image and packaging dedicated to them.
