SOLIDARITY IN THE VINEYARD IN LE MORETTE FROM THE CASSA INTEGRATION TO THE CELLAR

The meeting between the Le Morette farm in Peschiera del Garda (VR) and the bus and coach rental company Peschiera Viaggi arises from the need to not stop and find a solution to the lack of manpower. The owner Marco Cussolotto and his team of fifteen drivers will work this season in the vineyards of the company led by Fabio and Paolo Zenato . After being unemployed because of Covid-19, after having made use of the layoffs, starting from May the employees of Peschiera Viaggi decided to lend a hand in the work in the vineyard. After a short period of training, under the guidance of Paolo Zenato, the drivers now deal with the shoot removal and the management of the crown of the vineyard, fundamental operations in modern quality viticulture. An important collaboration that also allows us to tackle the shortage of seasonal labor that is affecting the agricultural sector and which, if necessary, will be renewed until the harvest period. "It is a gesture of solidarity born spontaneously after a meeting with Marco Cussolotto - says Fabio Zenato - They needed to work and we needed help in the vineyard, since the people employed usually at this time are not in Italy. The shortage seasonal workers are hitting the entire agricultural sector. We have tackled this problem by joining forces and doing teamwork. "
