Sincette presents Foglio 9: the new biodynamic groppello aged in amphora

Sincette , a biodynamic farm owned by the Brunori family, enriches its production with Foglio 9 Riviera del Garda Classico Groppello 2021 , a red that ages for twelve months in amphora . The wine-growing company, based in Polpenazze del Garda (Brescia) on the Brescia side of Lake Garda, thus intensifies the project of valorising the native red variety of Valtènesi with its own mass selection. Foglio 9 produced in 2,300 bottles and 50 Magnums, is the result of a selection of the best bunches of Groppello Gentile and Mocasina from the company's oldest vineyards, grown using the Guyot system on a soil of morainic origin with a predominantly sandy-limestone composition. The low yield of 50 quintals/ha denotes a production style devoted to excellence and, through the adoption of biodynamic principles , respect for nature. The bunches, carefully selected and strictly hand-picked, are destemmed, pressed and delicately transferred into amphorae in which the alcoholic fermentation triggered by indigenous yeasts takes place, followed by a five-month maceration on the skins. This winemaking process manages to extract greater aromas and complexity from a very delicate variety such as Groppello. “I firmly believe in the potential of our native – declares the director of Sincette Andrea Salvetti –. Ruby in colour, Foglio 9 presents notes of red fruit on the nose, with floral and spicy hints of carnation and juniper. In the mouth it offers a fresh, round and slightly tannic sip, with good acidity balanced by a savory note. The finish is long and persistent. It goes well with red and grilled meats as well as game-based dishes.
