Sicily DOC wine protection consortium elected the new board

The new board of directors will remain in office for the three-year period 2020-2022. The elected directors are:

• Paolo Di Maria,
• Filippo Paladino,
• Alessio Planeta,
• Antonio Rallo,
• Letizia Russo,
• Alberto Tasca,
• Nicolò Vinci.

The election of the new president and vice-presidents will take place during the first session of the new board.

The number of members of the board of directors therefore rises to 12.

The proposal to increase the number of members of the board of directors from 9 to a maximum of 12 was put forward by the outgoing board of directors and was ratified by the shareholders' meeting, which met in Sambuca di Sicilia on February 28, 2020, which approved the change. of article 15 of the Statute of the Consortium.

The purpose of this choice is to further give voice to the productive world represented in the Consortium.

The assembly also approved the financial statements for 2019 and the budget for 2020. A project was also approved for the certification of the sustainability of Sicilian viticulture which will be governed by a foundation set up for this purpose. It was also decided to postpone the introduction of the state straps on the DOC Sicily bottles to January 1, 2022.
