Antonio Rallo, president of the DOC Sicilia confirms that «the quality of the grapes in the whole region is very good, clusters present themselves to the harvest healthy and mature and with an excellent sugar content».
«Elegance and balance, therefore, seem to be the watchwords for Sicilian wines of 2014» Francesco Ferreri, President of Assovini Sicilia, says, and summing adds: «from the point of view of the performance, this vintage is in line with that of 2012, with productivity rates a bit lower in the west part and a little higher in the east».
Tasca d’Almerita speaks of a «perfect 2014 season: spring was fairly rainy with a cool summer that favored slow and gradual maturation».
Caruso & Minini agree that «day/night temperature ranges are very pronounced» facilitating the development of aromas and flavors.
To Donnafugata early results are «very satisfactory both for the fresh and fruity wines and for structured and complex ones». «It will be a great vintage for intense and elegant white wines», Feudo Arancio announces.
