Maurizio Dante Filippi won the "Gran Premio Sagrantino".
Dante Filippi, formerly Umbria Best Sommelier 2013, was rewarded with the "Gran Premio Sagrantino".
He works as a sommelier at the Restaurant Sala della Comitissa in Braschi (TR).
The competition took place within the Enologica34 "Alle Radici del Sagrantino" event.
The competences required to the participants ranged from history and diffusion of Sagrantino to methods of cultivation, from soils and climatic conditions to knowledge of wines, to the laws and the areas with designation of origin of Sagrantino.
The finalists faced a series of complex tests. The three sommeliers were awarded twith scholarships provided by the Consortium for the Wine Protection of Montefalco for the competition now in its sixth edition.
