Italian wine in Russia, in January-February 2013, has doubled compared to the same period of 2012, rising from 14.82 million euro to 26.88 million euro, with a quantity increased from 4.5 million to 8.2 million liters. Instead, France has only maintained its positions (data Wine monitor).
"In Russia more and more Italian wine is drunk - the president of the Grandi Marchi Institute, Piero Antinori, says, who presented the tour in Russia starting on 23rd May - In addition to the two major reference cities, Moscow and St. Petersburg, where these years we have worked hard to promote the best of Italian winemaking, now we focus on the most promising realities such as Sochi, the black pearl of the Black Sea that during the summer months catalyzes more than 40 milion visitors. We consider this an interesting stage to tie commercial relations with local distributors and restaurateurs also in preview of the upcoming Winter Olympics".
With its 4 million visitors that from May to September make the local population double, Sochi is the new entry in the foreign stages of the Grandi Marchi Institute, that will arrive in the seaside capital of Russia on 23rd May, to go then to Krasnaya Poliyana on 24th, to Moscow on 28th and to St. Petersburg on 30th May.
