ROERO CONFIRMS MONCHIERO AT THE LEAD OF THE CONSORTIUM

An increase in sales of Roero of 38% in volume and value in seven years, a widespread increase in the value of the land, the prudent policy of managing the growth of the denomination, which reached 1,200 hectares of vineyards with a plan for plants aimed at ensure a controlled and progressive increase. These are just some of the results obtained by the Consorzio Tutela Roero in the seven years of Francesco Monchiero's presidency.

An approach that led Monchiero to face actively even a difficult moment such as that determined by Covid 19, proposing and obtaining from the Region the financing of structural interventions aimed at overcoming the complex situation on the markets.

At the time of the renewal of the offices, no other member therefore applied and the request to remain was unanimous.

The next three years are equally intense: " The first objective will be to create a Consortium site structured with a director, to which will be supported the promotion projects in Italy and abroad, in particular in the United States and Switzerland." The next initiative in this sense will be in the autumn the Roero Wine Week, a promotion week that will involve restaurateurs from Piedmont and from all over Italy.

Roero Days, the most important event of the denomination, which will take place at the Reggia di Venaria Reale in April, will return in 2021.
