After a sluggish start to the year, the second quarter of 2023 shows some timid signs of recovery for Italian wines sold on the retail circuit in the USA, the United Kingdom and Germany.
The total volume of the three countries is stable in the final balance from January, at 2.3 million hectoliters (-2.2%), thanks above all to the discrete performance of still wines in the UK (3%) and Germany (4%) and of sparkling wine in the USA (2%).
Total values at 1%, above 2.2 billion euros, with average prices generally stable compared to last year, but with inflationary peaks on sparkling wine in Germany, which are favoring the sales of cheaper sparkling wines.
In the reports, the data of the main Italian and foreign types sold and the analysis of NielsenIQ data by the UIV Wine Observatory.
