The 2021 harvest for Primitivo di Manduria has ended: postponed and excellent quality of the grapes.

"We started harvesting about 10 days late - explains Mauro di Maggio , President of the Consortium for the Protection of Primitivo di Manduria - The quality of the grapes immediately proved to be excellent from a phytosanitary point of view. Initially we thought of an uncertain vintage , due to the high temperatures in July and August but, in the end, technology and expertise have saved the quality. The grape harvest first concerned the coastal areas, immediately after the saplings and, finally, the Guyot or spurred cordon systems . I thank all the winemakers and professionals who have dedicated body and soul to the grape harvest and to the technology in the vineyard. And thanks to our companies that, with passion and skilled skills, produce this extraordinary wine. An excellence. which has conquered and is conquering important slices of the market ".
