Polegato family: THE ACQUISITION OF THE LA VIARTE WINERY IS OFFICIAL

A new " Spring" for the Polegato family. That of Giorgio, Giorgia, Luana and Riccardo who announce their new adventure in the world of wine thanks to the acquisition of the La Viarte winery located in Prepotto (Ud) .

Giorgio Polegato's family, in fact, after the liquidation of their shares in Astoria, had taken the time necessary to seize the right opportunity that corresponded to their expectations to give life to a high quality project. This opportunity came with the La Viarte winery, whose name in Friulian means "Spring", located in one of the most renowned and traditional Italian wine-growing areas, the Colli Orientali del Friuli . An area capable of producing high quality wines thanks to the particularities of the soil and climate, as well as the exposure to the sun guaranteed by its hilly conformation.

The acquisition therefore concerns a historic company in the Friulian territory, which over the years wants to confirm itself as a point of reference for viticulture. This will happen both with respect for tradition, but also with the innovation that is in the DNA of the Polegato family. This, in fact, will not fail to offer new surprises, without giving up its know-how related to bubbles. Specifically, a partnership will be launched with another winemaking company with a strong vocation for the Classic Method.

“La Viarte will be our new family winery into which we will pour all our energy to make the most of our experience and, above all, to guarantee products that can be representative of the territory of excellence chosen for our new enterprise - say in chorus the members of the Polegato family - In these months we will begin a process of evolution of all company processes, from the vineyard to the cellar, and finally to the management area. The company philosophy dedicated to high quality will remain at the center of our project and, at the same time, we will introduce new commercial and marketing strategies to enhance our brand towards an adequate positioning on national and international markets".

Prepotto extends along the Judrio Valley, a torrential river which, for a long stretch, marks the border with Slovenia. La Viarte is located on one of these hills, surrounded by vineyards at almost 200 m above sea level. Here the temperature range and the fresh Bora winds coming from the Balkans favor the health of the plants and the aromatic complement of the grapes. Over time, Viarte has kept the biodiversity of the surrounding area intact thanks to the 13 hectares of forest surrounding the cellar and the 24 hectares of single vineyard.

The Polegato family was assisted, for legal aspects, by the Law Firm. Antonio Pavan of the Court of Treviso and, for accounting and tax aspects, by Studio Profassociati of San Fior (TV).
