  • 03/02/2023

The Treviso-based winery, leader in the production of organic wine, records 100% growth and reaches a turnover of 26 million in 2022

The Pizzolato Winery, a reality that has been operating in the production and distribution of organic wine since 1981, closes 2022 with growth with a 100% increase in turnover compared to pre-pandemic data, going from 13 million in 2018 to 26 million in 2022 Record sales for the winery which has reached the production of 9 million bottles and has consolidated its distribution network beyond national borders and which develops 93% on the foreign market, in 40 countries worldwide with a leadership Scandinavian markets for sparkling wines with the M-use line of rosé and Pinot Grigio, aiming to strengthen distribution for 2023 and open up to new markets.

“In 2022, we entered markets such as Vietnam, the Philippines and Thailand. A first but important step in approaching Asian countries with the aim of consolidating our presence in this part of the world in the coming years. In fact, we aim to be present in South Korea, the Philippines and Cambodia” declares Sabrina Rodelli , Export Manager and Commercial Director of La Cantina Pizzolato. “In the Middle East, and specifically in Israel, we have already been present for about two years thanks to the sale of kosher wines, which we currently produce upon market demand but it is certainly a channel we would like to develop. For the Italian market we have in fact created a Made to Order project dedicated precisely to kosher wine, a method that allows us to predict production and tiptoe into this niche that has high potential".

The diversification of production will lead, in 2023, to the launch of a drink with zero alcohol content created to meet the needs of the new generations, embrace different cultures and open new markets. “The strength of the Pizzolato winery – and what has always distinguished us – is the ability to quickly understand the stimuli of the market, re-elaborating them and offering quality products. Respect for the environment and environmental and social sustainability have always been the reference asset of our philosophy, ever since, in 1991, I decided, against the tide, to pursue a model of organic farming. The grapes in the cellar have always been grown with the organic method which requires a lot of attention, care and above all knowledge of the land" explains Settimo Pizzolato, President of the Cantina which, since 2021, has been officially recognized as a Benefit Society and aims, in 2023 , obtaining the Equalitas certification to further validate the production chain.

For the new year, the Pizzolato Winery will continue to achieve the objectives of regeneration of the territory and an improvement in terms of sustainability of which the production of PIWI wines represents the maximum achievement in terms of 100% sustainable cultivation. A range of products that enriches the Pizzolato production of red wines, white wines and the iconic M-use, made with a reusable bottle. The Back to Basic line – entirely sustainable in all stages of the production chain – will be expanded with a Pinot Grigio Rosé.

A development of social sustainability that is not limited to production but also implies the creation of a work environment that guarantees people's safety and in which the staff can work in harmony. The corporate structure of Cantina Pizzolato has been expanded to around 38 employees, with the inclusion of three new important figures: one in the human resources department, a Production Manager and an Export Manager to support the commercial expansion project.

The Settimo Pizzolato Holding is today made up of the four members of the Pizzolato family: Settimo Pizzolato, Sabrina Rodelli and Federico and Stefania Pizzolato - the second generation of the Cantina - and sees in the development strategy, in addition to the growth of the Villorba Cantina already owning 86 hectares of land, also an investment of resources for Casale III, the estate in Tuscany with about 41 hectares where new wines are produced such as Chianti DOGC Colli Senesi, a Tuscan red IGP as well as a production of oil.
