Unasco presents today the Identity card of the real extra virgin olive oil

The counterfeit of the true Made in Italy condemned by the cartoons in the New York Times deserve a serious and immediate answer. Unasco (the association of organizations of olive oil producers), has given rise to a system of traceability and quality just to cope with the problem of counterfeit.

“We have created a system of traceability in accordance with the UNI EN ISO 22005:08 regulation – the president of Unasco, Luigi Canino, stated – certified by a third party and, with qualified technicians, we monitor the application of disciplinaries of quality along the whole Unasco olive oil production chain”.

The Identity card will be presented today in Rome at Eataly, and will work through the portal www.olitaliano.it: just enter the code that you find on every bottle of the Unasco System. The consumer, in this way, can trace back, from the table to the field, the production process of extra virgin olive oil, from the farm to the packaging.
