Eric Asimov is an illustrious opinion leader in the wine world, is responsible for wines from 1999 and, from 2004, he has a regular column in The New York Times. On 12th June, he has written the article "Pay respect to Aglianico". Asimov gave a very positive opinion: "One of my favorite grape varieties is a red grape that many take for granted. I do not know very well why it awakes poor enthusiasm, because I find that it leads to delicious wines, structured and suitable for aging". "I speak of Aglianico, the main red grape of Campania, which includes Naples and Salerno along the west coast of southern Italy". "Aglianico is the perfect combination: tasty and robust enough to match these flavours, at the same time lively and intriguing enough to give a refreshing feeling".
