New National Committee of Dop and Igp Wines for 2012-2014

The minister catania presents the New Committee: president Martelli confirmed, members from 40 to 18.

"The new National Committee for Dop and Igp wines, which remains an organ of the Ministry, compared to the pre-existing Committee has been more than halved in the number of members (from 40 to 18) to strengthen its cohesion. The members of the Committee do not receive any remuneration or attendance fees for carrying out their duties "says a statement from the Ministry.

The Committee has the duties of:

- national preliminary selection procedure regarding the Pdo and PGI specifications of wines to be brought to the European Commission.

- advisory functions towards the Ministry

- propositional functions towards the Ministry.

The list of 18 members of the National Wine Committee 2012-2014

Michele Alessi , Oreste Gerini Luca Lauro, representing the Ministry;
Antonella Bosso, Francesco Favro and Giuseppe Liberatore, as experts in technical / scientific / legislative matters relating to the viticulture and oenology sector;
Giuseppe Bursi and Michele Zanardo , representing and as coordinators of the regions and autonomous provinces;
Nicola Bux, representing the chambers of commerce, industry, crafts and agriculture;
Emilio Renato Defilippi (oenologist), representing the Italian oenologists' association;
Ezio Pelissetti (oenologist), representing the voluntary protection consortia referred to in article 17 of Legislative Decree no. 61/2010;
Domenico Bosco (Coldiretti), representing the farmers' trade unions;
Palma Esposito (Confagricoltura), representing the farmers' trade unions;
Domenico Mastrogiovanni (Cia - Italian Farmers Confederation), representing the farmers' trade unions;
Gabriella Ammassari (Legacoop), representing the representative and protection organizations of the social wineries and agricultural cooperatives;
Giuseppe Battistuzzi (Fedagri-Confcooperative), representing the representative and protection organizations of the social wineries and agricultural cooperatives;
Ottavio Cagiano de Azevedo (Federvini), representing the trade union organizations of the wine industry;
