Moio is one of the leading experts in oenology, his studies and their applications have contributed decisively to the discovery and enhancement of many indigenous grape varieties of southern Italy.
Professor Moio was elected unanimously, on 10th July 2015, Chairman of the Oenology Commission at the OIV World Congress by the 46 OIV member countries.
Minister Martina expressed his satisfaction for the election of Professor Luigi Moio:
«This appointment – the Minister said – is a recognition to the efforts of our country, within the frame of OIV, to the international harmonization and to the development of wine–making practices, to improve the production and marketing conditions of wine products in respect of the great Italian tradition».
