Mirabella presents the two new firm faces of pinot in Franciacorta

The Rodengo Saiano company launches the new line of still wines dedicated to monovarietals. A different and captivating interpretation for the foreign and Italian market

Maniero Pinot nero and Palazzina Pinot bianco are the two new wines of Mirabella , which enhances the attention for these varieties so much that it inaugurates its first line of still and pure vinified vines. A choice born from the desire to relaunch another expression of the Franciacorta land, satisfying an existing market demand for abroad and soliciting a new one at national level. Freshness, immediacy and typicality are the peculiarities of the selection, for which the company has chosen the vines that it considers most representative of the territory and its style, with particular reference to pinot bianco . Mirabella today is able to offer three interpretations with an approach that could be defined as "didactic": it is present in various percentages in the Franciacorta cuvées, it is vinified in purity in the Brut Nature Classic Method version and still in Palazzina . For the vinification of the still Mirabella chose the cement for the first fermentation of both and for the maceration of the pinot noir. The new selection, which completely replaces the Company's previous still production, also brings with it a turning point in packaging. In particular, the use of the stelvin cork is introduced, perfectly in line with the characteristics of the wines, both from an organoleptic and stylistic point of view. The grapes for Maniero and Palazzina come from organic vineyards that tend to be younger than those destined for Franciacortas, to which a new two-hectare plant was added in April 2020, one destined for pinot noir and the other for pinot White. Two vines that this year experienced a good season for the quality and quantity of the bunches: "The yields were good, between 80 and 90 quintals per hectare, and the state of health was impeccable - said Alessandro Schiavi , oenologist from Mirabella - The harvest was not easy in terms of managing the various stages of ripening, but we interpreted the strange weather trends of August with foresight and guaranteed maximum efficiency in the vineyard and in the cellar, as well as perfect processing of the grapes being pressed ". From an initial evaluation of the grapes and musts, “pinot bianco and pinot nero - continues Alessandro Schiavi - have obtained the maximum performance with beautiful acidity. In summary, the 2020 harvest was characterized by finesse, elegance and longevity ". Palazzina Pinot bianco was produced in 3,500 bottles while Maniero Pinot nero in 5,000 units. The distribution will be exclusively in the Ho.re.ca. channel, in a price range around 15 euros.
