MAURIZIO DANESE NEW CHAIRMAN OF VERONAFIERE

The Assembly of the Members of the Body of Viale del Lavoro held today elected Maurizio Danese new Chairman and with him a new Board of Directors consisting of Barbara Blasevich, Marino Breganze, Guidalberto di Canossa and Claudio Valente.

The Assembly of the Members of Veronafiere elected Maurizio Danese new Chairman for the three–year period 2015–2018.

Danese, born in 1962, is a member of a group of companies active in the sector of food products to the Horeca sector, is Vice–Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce of Verona, Vice–Chairman of Confcommercio Verona and Chairman of the institute of credit guarantee, Confidi Veneto.

«I thank the members and institutions for the trust. It will be returned well – Chairman Maurizio Danese said –. Within a reality that the board of directors and the outgoing Chairman were able to govern in difficult years, consolidating it and enhancing it further in its role as an international player, not only in the wine industry and in agribusiness, and an effective driving force for the internationalization of Italian companies and Made in Italy. Veronafiere, then, is a key lever for the economy of Verona: 1.3 million visitors a year generate important linked activities. The outgoing administration has left on the table important strategic projects that now we will evaluate in depth with the members. Choices that can not be separated from the competitive environment in which the Fair operates. A European and global market where there is a strong push towards concentration. The top ten European fairs realize 35% of the more than 14 billion turnover in the market and have more facilities and, above all, financial resources. Veronafiere has important potential and all the numbers to consolidate its position in this market in turmoil. We will carefully consider the development plans, using the resources that the government has allocated for the fairs in the Plan for the extraordinary promotion of Made in Italy. Along with Danese, the Assembly also elected a new Board of Directors composed of the Directors, Barbara Blasevich, Marino Breganze, Guidalberto di Canossa and Claudio Valente.
