MATTEO ASCHERI NEW PRESIDENT OF PIEDMONT LAND OF PERFECTION

Matteo Ascheri has been elected President of Piemonte Land of Perfection, the Piedmontese super-consortium that since 2011 has offered protection consortia a continuous discussion table where to identify common operations and strategies to enhance regional wine production. Filippo Mobrici and Paolo Ricagno will assist the President of the Consortium Barolo Barbaresco Alba Langhe and Dogliani as vice-presidents.

Piemonte Land currently groups together all the fourteen consortia recognized by Mipaaf, covering almost all of the regional wine-growing area, equal to 44,200 hectares. Here, taking advantage of the presence of about 20 historical autochthonous vines, 17 Docg and 42 Doc are produced which make Piedmont one of the excellences of the world wine scene.

"I thank the members of the Council for the trust they wanted to give me - declares the new president - and towards which I am committing myself today to represent the entire Piedmontese wine sector equally, regardless of the differences that inevitably exist in such a rich and composite like ours. For this reason, in continuing the promotional work carried out so far by my predecessors, whom I thank, I will aim to give each denomination the utmost importance, enhancing its peculiarities within that common Piedmontese wine house represented by Piemonte Land. The affirmation of our wine production on the national and international market - concludes Ascheri - is a challenge that can only be overcome by highlighting the great wealth and biodiversity that is expressed in every single Piedmontese denomination ".
