Marsala Doc is 50 years old The Sicilian nectar has its first 50 years! Since the eighteenth century Marsala has fascinated many English navigators and traders and then Garibaldi, who baptized his favorite mare 'Marsala'.
In 1963 Marsala was the first wine to receive the denomination of controlled origin therefore the renowned fortified wine is the oldest DOC in Italy.
Today the designations of origin, that is the Italian DOPs, are a total of 403, of which 330 Doc and 73 Docg.
