MARCHESI FRESCOBALDI ACQUIRES POGGIO VERRANO

Acquisition of the Poggio Verrano Estate in the Tuscan Maremma by Frescobaldi.

Poggio Verrano was born in 2000 as a viticultural project in the Tuscan Maremma and represented an important part and challenge in the life of Francesco Bolla who, starting from scratch, alone had the satisfaction of seeing the estate's wines present in three continents and be included in the top 3% of wines from around the world on Vivino, the world's largest wine marketplace.

The acquisition was agreed by the Bolla family with great harmony, the Marchesi Frescobaldi philosophy of Cultivating Toscana Diversity in fact enters fully into the Project to create wines of great excellence in Maremma. The acquisition of Poggio Verrano takes place in an area that the Frescobaldi family began to frequent years ago: when the Ammiraglia estate was born.

“The increasingly complex and complicated international scenario made me reflect on the need to find new energies. I am therefore proud that the Poggio Verrano company enters the wine-growing galaxy of the Frescobaldi family" - so Francesco Bolla, fourth generation of the homonymous family , who adds - " I am sure that my friend Lamberto and his expert team will bring it, and in particular the top wine Dròmos, to new important goals. The ownership of the historic buildings and the olive grove remains with the Bolla family; therefore, we will continue to frequent this magical part of the Tuscan coast: the Maremma. I conclude by thanking my family, in particular my daughter Valentina who has worked in the company for the last ten years, my former collaborators, especially those with more seniority, the commercial partners and all those who have given their active contribution in this adventurous journey " .

"Our style is to make the land and the diversity of the territories speak" - so Lamberto Frescobaldi, President of Marchesi Frescobaldi, who continues - "The different lands, whose characteristics vary from estate to estate, and even within each of them , are chosen on the basis of their vocation. We have deep respect for what Francesco Bolla and his family have done in Maremma. I have personally seen the construction of the Poggio Verrano company as I passed in front of it every time I went to the Ammiraglia. The beauty of the vineyards, the cellar perfectly integrated into the territory, everything communicates the attention and love that Francesco Bolla has had for the area. I am grateful to him for allowing us to continue what he started with so much love.

The nine Marchesi Frescobaldi estates are: Castello Pomino (Pomino), Castello Nipozzano (Nipozzano), Tenuta Perano (Gaiole in Chianti), Tenuta Castiglioni (Montespertoli), Tenuta CastelGiocondo (Montalcino), Tenuta Ammiraglia (Magliano in Toscana), Remole (Sieci ), Tenuta Calimaia (Cervognano) and Gorgona . Located in areas of Tuscany particularly suited to the production of fine wines (DOC, DOCG and IGT), the estates differ in terrain, environment and history. To these must be added the Bolgheri estates Ornellaia and Masseto, Tenuta Luce in Montalcino and Attems in the Collio. The combination of these elements gives each Frescobaldi wine a unique and distinctive character. Each estate is managed as a single entity, with its own managers: for viticulture, vinification and ageing. Marchesi Frescobaldi embodies the essence of Tuscany, the extraordinary vocation for viticulture and the variety of territories. Its uniqueness arises precisely from the representation of this diversity, from its nine Estates and from the wines that express a kaleidoscope of aromas and sensations, daughters of the characteristics of each individual terroir. Our claim - summarizes the company philosophy, testifying to the family's close relationship with the many different nuances of this region.

Frescobaldi's mission is to understand and promote these unique terroirs, making them an integral part of the spirit of Tuscany, like the art of the good and the beautiful. The thousand years of family history constitute a unique and irreplaceable treasure of knowledge and traditions. Frescobaldi embodies the very essence of Tuscany, its extraordinary aptitude for viticulture and the fascinating variety of its growing areas. The uniqueness of the family arises precisely from its being a reflection of this diversity, from its nine wine estates and its wines, which offer a kaleidoscope of fragrances and sensations, each of which capable of reflecting the characteristics of a specific territory.

The Marchesi Frescobaldi Group is already present in the Maremma with the Tenuta Ammiraglia which represents a more modern and Mediterranean Tuscany, in an area with great potential for the production of high quality wines, as well as undoubted natural, fascinating and uncontaminated beauties. Located in Magliano in Toscana, in the heart of the Maremma, the Ammiraglia estate was designed by the architect Piero Sartogo. Here the vineyards paint suggestive geometries on the hills up to the nearby Tyrrhenian coast. The amount of sun and light reaches very high levels, integrating with the sea breezes and creating particularly favorable conditions. To enhance the unique character of this area, a lake was also created which collects the water and allows the vineyards to be irrigated during the driest months. The combination of these factors gives the wines of Tenuta Ammiraglia an exceptional variety and richness of aromas, unique in Maremma. Furthermore, the modern and original design of the bottles marks the positioning of the estate dedicated to the production of wines with a lively and elegant character.
