Mandrarossa wins awards at Sicilia in Bolle: Calamossa Bianco confirms its position as the best sparkling wine.

For the second consecutive year, the Menfi-based wine has been awarded the title Alberto Gino Grillo – Top Sparkling Wine, awarded by the jury of journalists at the AIS Sicilia event.

Fresh, harmonious and strongly linked to the territory: Calamossa Bianco Frizzante Terre Siciliane IGT by Mandrarossa , a brand of Cantine Settesoli based in Menfi (Agrigento), won the Alberto Gino Grillo award for the second consecutive year – Top sparkling wine Awarded by the specialized press as part of Sicilia in Bolle , the event organized by AIS Sicilia to celebrate the excellence of the island's sparkling and semi-sparkling wines. The awards ceremony took place on Monday, July 14th at the Madison restaurant, overlooking the famous Scala dei Turchi in Realmonte (Agrigento), following three days of masterclasses, technical meetings, and winery tours.

Now in its 11th edition, Sicilia in Bolle has established itself as one of the most representative events for Sicilian winemaking, attracting an ever-growing number of wineries, industry professionals, and the public. The 2025 edition took place from July 12th to 14th and, for the first time, featured a blog tour with the participation of nine food and wine content creators, who visited, among other venues, Mandrarossa Winery .

Calamossa Bianco Frizzante Terre Siciliane IGT , named after a splendid inlet nestled between vineyards and the sea, is made from a selection of the finest Grecanico, Zibibbo, and Catarratto grapes, harvested in the first week of September. The vineyards are located between Menfi and the southeastern coast of Sicily, at an altitude of 80 to 250 meters above sea level, on clay and limestone soils. The result is a straw-yellow wine with floral aromas of acacia and wisteria, harmoniously blended with delicate notes of honey. The palate is fresh, harmonious, and persistent thanks to the perfect balance of sugars and acidity. It is a versatile wine for a summer aperitif or paired with light, vegetable-based dishes.
