The Mach Foundation has saved ancient grape varieties of Trentino: Biancaccia and Rossetta di Montagna
In Valsugana and in Vallagarina, in ancient times, two vine varieties were cultivated, which have now been retrieved by the researchers of the Mach Foundation: they are the Biancaccia and Rossetta di Montagna. Now these two varieties are listed in the National Register of the vine varieties suitable for the production of wine.
This brings to nine the number of ancient vines recovered by San Michele and treasured in the collection of the 24 historical vine varieties of Trentino, which can be found in Vigalzano, available to vinegrowers and nurserymen.
