The CMO had suggested in 2008 that the right of planting was liberalizad from 2016
Italy and France lead the commission to require rejection and Agriculture Eurosystem not to continue in that direction.
Dacian Ciolos, the agriculture commissioner says he wants "high-level reflection group" to address the issue in view of the relationship that the Commission will publish at the end of 2012. For the President of Efow (European Federation of Wine of Origin) Riccardo Ricci Curbastro "is proof that the Commissioner begins to think seriously about the seriousness of the matter and the consequences would be extremely heavy on the whole wine sector deregulation." He is echoed by the Vice-President of the French Efow Berbanrd Farges, "when speaking of replanting it comes to the survival of our industry, the economy of many regions, the survival of many of the same companies and land conservation."
