Lapo Elkann makes Independent Prosecco

On the market the new Prosecco Doc by Lapo Elkann


From 120 hectares of the Fantinel company, in Tauriano di Spilimbergo, the Independent Prosecco, a bottle that costs 12 euro, is produced.

One hundred thousand are the bottles. «Most of them will be sold abroad» Marco Fantinel said, «We want it to be included in the lists of the wines from the best places in the world, from the USA to Russia». Italia Independent, the company headed by Lapo, holds a share of 50% of the deal. «We decided – the producer of the best Glera grapes explains – and focused on a long fermentation, 100 days, and on a refinement of one year. The result is a complex and fruity wine, different than that which is produced in the Veneto region».
