Langhe–Roero and Monferrato are very close to entering the “World Heritage List”.
The second inspection of Icomos, the technical institute that evaluates the proposals of each UNESCO candidacy, has allowed us to overcome problems and to express a positive opinion. Doha is the next step, where a final decision will be taken, in June, on the candidacy of the “Wine landscapes of Piedmont: the Langhe–Roero and Monferrato areas”. Even through the UNESCO recognition of what the then Minister of Agriculture Galan defined “a part of the thousand–year Italian wine and food history, and one of the "diamonds" of the Italian rural heritage”.
