Donatella Cinelli Colombini has earned the title of Knight of Merit of the Italian Republic
Yesterday there was the ceremony where the Prefect Renato Saccone delivered to Donatella the diploma that was conferred to her by the President of the Republic Giorgio Napolitano on December 27th, the anniversary of the promulgation of the Italian Constitution.
The Brunello winemaker is now a Knight, or rather "knightess", as she asserts, in addition to saying to be very proud.
The Order of Merit of the Italian Republic was established sixty years ago and is the first of the national orders. It is designed to “reward merit acquired towards the Nation in the field of literature, arts, economy and in the hallway of public offices and business activities for social, philanthropic and humanitarian causes, as well as for long and reported services in civilian and military careers”.
