On stage the pianist Alessandro Lanzon i, with Gabriele Evangelista on double bass and Enrico Morello on drums.

THE MUSICIANS – A new meeting that revives memories and a happy collaboration. Enrico Rava, born in 1939, is the best known and most appreciated Italian jazz musician on an international level: a rigorous and humanly straightforward musician, he is a personality regardless of conventions and outside the box. Always committed to stimulating experiences, Rava established himself on the jazz scene in the mid-1960s and then became one of the most convincing European jazz soloists. His poetics is immediately recognizable, while the lyrical and poignant sonority, the freshness of inspiration characterize all the musical production of which we remember the unmissable albums Quartet (ECM 1978) "Rava l'opera Va" (Label Bleu 1993), " Easy Living” (ECM 2004), “Tati” (ECM 2005) and “The Words and the Days” (ECM 2007), “New York Days” (ECM 2009), “Tribe” (ECM 2218) and “On The Dance Floor” (ECM 2293). Until the latest works: in January 2023 "The Song is You", the album by Enrico Rava and Fred Hersch, published by the ECM label (released in September 2022) was proclaimed "disc of the year" in the "Top Jazz” of Musica Jazz magazine, which still in 2021 had proclaimed him Musician of the Year. The very personal sound of Rava's instruments, trumpet and flugelhorn, will interact on stage in the marvelous Italian garden that embraces Villa Quaranta - a historic villa from the mid-17th century - with the pianist Alessandro Lanzoni, Gabriele Evangelista and Enrico Morello. Born in 1992, Lanzoni has behind him an artistic training and goals that have brought him to the attention of the musical world. Recognized as talent of the year in 2013 with the "Top Jazz 2013" award from Musica Jazz magazine, Lanzoni quickly established himself as a leader and boasts significant international experience in Europe, Latin America, Israel and the United States, where he received flattering and unusual reviews for a foreign musician. His training as a musician is the result of an intense journey, developed in two directions: the "classical" studies on the one hand, culminating in the Piano Diploma obtained in 2012 with full marks, honors and honorable mention at the Cherubini Conservatory in Florence under the guidance of Giovanna Prestia, and the deepening of the jazz language on the other with great Masters - Danilo Perez, Kenny Werner, Aaron Goldberg, Steve Kuhn, John Taylor, Franco D'Andrea, Stefano Battaglia, Danilo Rea - and participations since from a very young age on the billboards of the most important Italian festivals alongside prestigious musicians. Testifying to an uncommon versatility of musician, the study of cello and composition, which materialized in the Master's Degree in Jazz Composition and Arrangement achieved in 2015 at the Conservatory of Florence with honors. The new trio album "Dark Flavour", recently released by Cam Jazz, has been welcomed by the critics as evidence of an artistic growth that makes the "enfant prodige" label that marked the beginning of a career completely out of place. started at just 14 years old. "Dark Flavour" was followed by the recent recording of "Seldom", the new CamJazz album in which the Alessandro trio also makes use of the prestigious collaboration with the American trumpeter Ralph Alessi. TASTING AND MENU OF THE EVENING – The concert will be preceded at 20.00 from a tasting organized by the Historical Families association. The wines served for the occasion will be from the Tommasi, Tedeschi and Speri companies . To accompany them the dedicated menu with breadsticks and crushed bread, three ages of Monte Veronese (young, middle-aged and very old) and a hot first course with macaroni of fresh cacio e pepe pasta and crunchy bacon. « Calici di Jazz is a unique opportunity to make our Villa Quaranta known, with its large park and the entire structure - emphasized Barbara Tommasi , Reception and Hospitality Manager at the Tommasi Family Estates - We are pleased to welcome guests who want to immerse themselves in the wonders of the Valpolicella and Amarone landscapes. A way to get to know and enjoy an exceptional product from a new point of view. This collaboration with the Teatro Ristori in fact carries forward the mission of Famiglie Storiche, that is to enhance wine tourism by combining it with the contemporaneity of jazz music just as the style of our Amarones that will be tasted is contemporary ». THE HEADQUARTERS – Villa Quaranta via Ospedaletto, 57 - Ospedaletto di Pescantina (Verona) Built in the mid-17th century, Villa Quaranta is immersed in the fascinating atmosphere of the park and in the vegetal architecture of the Italian garden. The villa shows the first signs of Baroque tendencies, presenting overall an architecture based on essential lines and a rigid central symmetry, also incorporating a Romanesque-style church. A large four-hectare park, unchanged over time and perfumed by various aromatic essences, in which imposing centuries-old trees stand out. embraces the entire structure.
