the viticulture of Ischia and Capri allies to the Phlegraean Fields to form the Consortium for the Protection of the Wines of the Phlegraean Fields, Ischia and Capri.
With the integration of the three territories, the members of the Consortium will rise from 150, of the Phlegraean Fields only, to 270, and production will increase from 2.6 million bottles of the Phlegraean Fields to 3.5 million.
The Chairman of the Consortium is Andrea D’Ambra and the Vicechairman is Michele Farro.
«With this initiative – Farro explains – we want to give greater strength and effect to the means of protection and promotion of the areas in which we produce wines that are also a major source of tourist attraction. In many cases – Farro concludes – it is a heroic viticulture, at the edges of extinct volcanic craters, on steep slopes and in inaccessible and dry areas that give characteristics and quality to wines that market and enthusiasts are appreciating more and more».
