Even in South Tyrol, if a wine has written "Vigna" on its label, it comes from a well–defined parcel of land, included in the registers of the Province.
«In our region, we were the first ones to indicate the name of the "Vigna" – Martin Foradori Hofstätter explains – because we have always vinified separately grapes and we also keep their records in registers. Now, in South Tyrol, to classify a vineyard as a "Vigna", the vinegrower must enroll it in the official registers or prove that, for years, the grapes of that parcel have been vinified for a single wine with its specific mention».
«The official mention of "Vigna" – Martin Foradori Hofstätter continues – is a confirmation of our work. But the most important thing is that this designation, through the identification of its specific Cru, will increase the value of South Tyrol’s wine sector internationally».
