The German Matthias Schuh and the Italians Andrea Gasparroni and Umberto Pilati won the European Wine Championship 2012, the famous student competition.
This year 31 European schools from Albania, Austria, Belgium, Estonia, France, Germany, Great Britain, Luxembourg, Poland, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, Hungary and of course Italy competed.
Participating students were evaluated in theoretical and practical competitions of viticulture, enology, tasting and wine culture, all in English.
The Italian wine institutes that participated are those of: Conegliano Veneto, Rome, Ascoli Piceno, San Michele all'Adige and Laimburg.
