Italy towards 39 million hectoliters
Italian wine production in 2023 stops within a range of between 38 and 40 million hectolitres. This is what emerges from the revision of the estimates announced in September by the Assoenologi Observatory, Ismea and the Italian Wine Union (Uiv), which recorded a further lightening compared to the values of the 2022 harvest. The contraction is therefore expected to reach a variable range between -20% and -24%.
The last time our country produced under 40 million hectoliters was 80 years ago.
Meanwhile, on the price front, the prices of common wines are recording record surges, with double-digit variations compared to last year and peaks never reached in the last five years.
