Andreola , a well-known company founded by Nazzareno Pola in 1984 in the heart of the Valdobbiadene DOCG territory, presents the report of the 2023 harvest , a demanding year that offered a series of surprises for the winemakers of Conegliano-Valdobbiadene DOCG . Despite the difficulties encountered, the constant commitment, care of the vineyards and oenological mastery have contributed to maintaining high quality standards. 2023 began with a spring characterized by extreme weather conditions. After a 2022 characterized by a dry summer and a winter with limited rainfall, in spring the climatic trend completely changed with abundant rainfall which initially favored the growth of the vines. However, constant humidity has led to an increasing spread of fungal diseases, requiring special attention from winemakers. Thanks to the experience of the growers and the unique conditions of the area, most of the vineyards were able to survive these adverse conditions. The situation was further complicated with the damage caused by intense hail events between 24 and 25 July, which affected some areas of the denomination. Fortunately, the Andreola winery suffered only minor damage in the western areas and the most interesting and qualitatively relevant part of the grapes remained intact, allowing us to keep expectations high for the wines of the 2023 denomination. The vintage also proved to be an opportunity : "2023, however, was a vintage that highlighted the profound positive connection between the vine and the territory. Ours is an extremely suitable and unique area and this leads us now to find healthy grapes in the cellar that bode well wines of excellent quality" states Mirco Balliana, Andreola's winemaker , and concludes: "In particular this dry and sunny start of autumn has favored perfect maturation: we therefore expect to find in the glass wines characterized by a pronounced acidity with excellent hints of fresh fruit and citrus fruits". The Andreola winery is proud to be an integral part of the Conegliano-Valdobbiadene DOCG territory and is committed to producing high quality wines that reflect the vocation and uniqueness of the area. The 2023 harvest is a testimony to this dedication and passion for the art of wine.
