“The vintage was very special because the territory was the victim of storms with exceptional wind and rain” says Luca Ferraris, President of the Association. “Fortunately, the only hailstorm in our area occurred between mid-June and mid-July, at a time when the vine still has a chance to recover. We can say that, on the contrary, a disaster turned into a good because it acted as a green harvest, eliminating the excess of bunches ".
A harvest that promised to be abundant will therefore be average, with a start in the usual period against an early season forecast that gave it early.
“Thanks to the temperatures” adds Ferraris , “which have dropped and abundant rains, just think that 220 ml of water fell between July and August”. A striking case occurred on 2 August where, in just 25 minutes, 88 ml of rain fell .
The Producers Association of Ruchè di Castagnole Monferrato Docg
The aim of the Association is to promote the Ruchè and its territory, thanks to the union of the skills and experience of the members. Representing 90% of the bottled production, the members of the Association are spokespersons for the denomination, promoting and taking part in events in Italy and abroad under a single common flag: that of Ruchè di Castagnole Monferrato Docg.
