Go Wine in favor of the Modigliana winemakers

Modigliana – “Wines of marl and sandstone, vineyards on a blade of water in the Apennine woods”.

Go Wine, the national association that promotes wine culture and tourism, is promoting an initiative by looking at the disaster that occurred in Romagna last May.

Attention has turned to the reality of Modigliana, an area suited to quality viticulture, and affected by many alluvial landslides.

In particular, Go Wine stands alongside the “Stella dell'Appennino” Association which brings together eleven winemakers from the Municipality and who are reacting with pride and strength to an unfavorable situation. Theirs is a virtuous viticulture, with vineyards in the woods on steep slopes and difficult terrain, but which give wines with green and spicy notes and a singular minerality, a unique terroir, based on a historic, ancient peasant culture.

A concrete action that is linked to the objectives that Go Wine has always pursued: in favor of many winegrowers who communicate their identity and relationship with their territory, where the vineyard is a safeguard of the environment and viticulture is the tenacious history of people and life.

Go Wine will carry out initiatives among the members throughout Italy, promoting actions to enhance the wine of Modiglianese winemakers and with some targeted events. In this regard, in the next week there are two appointments:

an event in Savona dedicated to the enhancement of native wines: the members of the city will be called to a collection of contributions in support of the Modiglianese association;

the second in Alba on the occasion of the Notte delle Bolle, the first edition of an event that Go Wine promotes in the historic center of the city.

"We strongly believe in this initiative - declares Massimo Corrado, president of Go Wine - we propose it as a sign of attention and encouragement so that the Modigliana winemakers can continue their virtuous action and so that their wines, despite the calamities, can continue to tell their territory by inviting us to get to know them and thus to get to know the beauty and complexity of this corner of the Italian wine”.
