"

The Lantieri de Paratico , a noble and ancient family from Brescia, have Franciacorta roots that date back more than a thousand years ago. In the eleventh century. they had an imposing castle built in Paratico, where the story tells was hosted during his exile Dante Alighieri who, inspired by the landscape, would have written some verses of the Cantica del Purgatorio. In the 1500s the family moved to Capriolo , where the winemaking tradition has been perpetuated and the company is now based. The Lantieri distinguished themselves for the production of wines as early as the 16th century: they were then appreciated suppliers of the Gonzaga, Lords of Mantua, and of the courts of Ferrara and Milan, with the "Rubino di Corte Franca", forerunner of today's wines. The Lantieri Winery is now located in the historic center of the medieval village of Capriolo. The 21 hectares of vineyards extend partly around the company headquarters and partly on the slopes of Monte Alto. The production is mainly dedicated to the entire range of Franciacortas, (of which 160,000 bottles are produced), alongside fine Curtefranca (20,000 bottles).
