The official wine of the next football world championship in Brazil has been created by Monica Rossetti, a young Brazilian woman of origins from Vicenza, who studies at the University of Udine
To decide it, FIFA, rewarding the “Faces” project. In agreement with the organizers of the world championship, FIFA will sign three “faces” wines: a white one, a rosé one, a red one, to represent the different “faces” of Brazil: the multi–ethnicity, the joy of living and the predominance of young population.
The FIFA brand will be used on the labels of the “Faces” wines, already tasted by the Brazilian president Dilma Rousseff at the wine festival in Caxias do Sul (Rio Grande do Sul).
The project provides for a white wine composed of the blend of the three most cultivated white vine varieties in Brazil; a rosé created by two red vine varieties particularly captivating for their color and freshness of taste, and a red one, that represents multi–etnicity, created cutting 11 wines, as the number of players of a football team. The wines of the project have already been “tried” during the Confederations Cup in 2013, which saw the consumption of the 200 trial bottles produced with the 2012 vintage.
«The University of Udine – as highlighted by Roberto Zironi and Enrico Peterlunger, presidents respectively of the degree course in Viticulture and Oenology and the master in Viticulture, Oenology and Wine Markets – is proud of the prestigious result achieved by the wine project developed by one of our students: Monica Rossetti, already an accomplished oenologist. It is a recognition that confirms her skills and her preparation, as well as the quality and the international potential of the training and research made in the wine sector by our university».
