  • 12/02/2015

The Italian Sommelier Association was present at the intense day of work in view of the preparation of the "Charter of Milan" of EXPO 2015.

A delegation composed of the National Chairman Antonello Maietta, the AIS Lombardia Chairman Fiorenzo Detti and Eng. Fabrizio Sechi, was part of the more than 500 experts gathered around 42 tables to lay the foundation for the legacy of Expo 2015: the Charter of Milan.

Why the Charter of Milan?

With the meetings of the "Ideas of Expo" the Universal Exhibition has worked for the Protocol on food security that will be "the first major legacy of Expo Milano 2015".

The document, named Charter of Milan, will be delivered to the UN Secretary General Ban–Ki Moon on the occasion of his visit to Milan as a contribution to the international discussion on the Millennium Goals.

To close the works of the day, the Prime Minister Matteo Renzi:

«This is the first public occasion – Renzi said – in which we make a concerted effort to go towards the Charter of Milan. In this effort, there is not only the great issue of food and of the possibility to "feed the planet", but there is also the possibility that our country starts to be a healthy carrier of hope and enthusiasm again».
