Coop Barometer: the crisis is now close to our loved ones, and one of the first reactions is to find what you can do on a daily basis to carry out actions of solidarity. At the supermarket people buy from who guarantees a job in Italy.
The results of the latest Coop Barometer, the periodic survey on a representative sample of Italians started with direct and web interviews, were presented by the Coop Italy Marketing Director Francesco Cecere: “What is emerging is a buying behavior that gives value to those who safeguard jobs in Italy. For the first time, over the last six–seven months, the willingness to use the leverage of food consumption as a lifeline of our local employment has been making inroads. Purchases of solidarity have always been characteristic of our customers, and, in the cart, tea, coffee, and chocolate that compensate the production communities in the world fairly are going very well. The novelty is that today about 35% of our customers, when there is a job to protect, proves to be ready to tie purchases to social responsibility. We realized it when the promotion was linked to Richard Ginori porcelain with the Tuscan factory at risk of closure. There was a boom in demands, moved by the quality of this Made in Italy product but also by the solidarity for those workers at risk of unemployment”.
