SQNPI certification for the grapes of the 2022 harvest for the Drusian company

The historic company from Valdobbiadene takes another step forward in terms of sustainability by obtaining the ministerial certification of the National Quality System for Integrated Production.

Starting from the 2022 harvest, all the grapes harvested in the vineyards owned by the Drusian company have the ministerial certification of the National Integrated Production Quality System.

" This is another very important piece that adds to those already achieved within our path undertaken many years ago in the name of sustainability " comments Francesco Drusian third generation at the helm of the family company which, with 80 hectares of vineyards represents one of the largest properties within the Conegliano Valdobbiadene DOCG area.

The ministerial certification of the National Integrated Production Quality System, more commonly known by the abbreviation SQNPI, is a system implemented through specific technical standards for each crop and binding phytosanitary indications (production specifications), including agronomic practices and limitations in the choice of plant protection products and in the number of treatments.

The reduction of the chemical impact in the vineyard by Drusian has actually been a consolidated activity for years, even before it became mandatory for all the companies in the Consortium with the approval in 2011 of the "Viticultural Protocol of Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG ". Drusian favors organic fertilization through treatments based on brown seaweed, sulfur and zeolite and practices a manual harvest, which allows the integrity of the bunches to be preserved, as well as the discarding of those that do not reflect the company's quality standards. Furthermore, within an overall philosophy that intends to consistently pursue the values of sustainability, the company has installed a solar and photovoltaic panel system and practices an extremely rational management of the water resources available.

" Being able to obtain this important certification for our grapes confirms that the path we took years ago in a forward-looking way is the right one, because the ultimate goal of our production is not only to give the consumer quality products and identifiers of the our territory, but at the same time also cultivated with techniques that respect the environment and human health – concludes Francesco Drusian – Furthermore, cultivation that is as sustainable as possible is a very important added value for the entire territory in which we are lucky enough to live and work in the Prosecco Hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene , today a Unesco World Heritage Site ".
