The association was born that will become the Consortium for the protection of Doc Sicily, to protect the regional denomination of Sicily.
The president will be Antonio Rallo (Donnafugata), who was already the head of Assovini Sicilia. The board of directors will represent all the trade organizations that have committed themselves to a council that have committed themselves to the recognition of the denomination.
The consortium will have 8.5 million euros at its disposal and will be able to request initiatives that can be financed up to 80 percent.
The projects can be presented until June 20 giving some more chances. Although Rallo himself stated that the first Doc Sicilia bottles will be on the market between January-February 2013.
