The Danish Trademark Office refused to register the mark 'Primarone' thanks to the opposition made by the Chamber of Commerce of Verona. Numerous attempts to mimic the successful wine An Italian firm from Puglia asked for registration of Primarone but the Danish office has denied permission in order to protect the name 'Amarone', and the decision 'was motivated by the fame of Amarone della Valpolicella, proven by the Chamber of Commerce with the deposit of various documentation.
'' It is a success in an activity 'in which we have invested heavily in recent years - said Alessandro Bianchi, President of the Chamber of Commerce - as many attempts are made to imitate the most successful of our wines. The last case 'to mark' Amarone ', registered in the United Kingdom by a restaurant, but our databases include numerous attempts, more' or less fanciful, to take advantage of the success of our wines: we found the brands' Amarone 'wines deposited by in Brazil, a Great Marone (withdrawn because of our opposition) in Denmark, a' Amar.Uno 'Community (also withdrawn following opposition of the House), a' Amarina 'and in various Amaroni USA''.
