Daniele Petricci new president of the Suvereto and Val di Cornia Consortium

Daniele Petricci is the new president of the Suvereto and Val di Cornia wine consortium. Forty-five years old, engaged in the family business, he has the task of replacing the outgoing Nico Rossi at the helm of the institution that protects the three denominations - Suvereto Docg, Val di Cornia Rosso Docg and Val di Cornia Doc - which insist on this terroir Maremma overlooking the Island of Elba. “I am leaving a structure born on the push of a newfound desire to be local winemakers - declares the outgoing president - I am happy to pass the baton to Daniele, the new generation of one of the historic companies of Suvereto. To him, and to all the other young people, I wish to give the Val di Cornia and its wines the visibility and dignity they deserve. I thank the producers, the local institutions and the Tuscany Region, always by our side. I dedicate one last thought to the territory, inviting everyone to work for its growth” says Nico Rossi. “In thanking the producers for their trust - says Daniele Petricci - and I assure them of the utmost commitment in enhancing the protected denominations and their territory. To achieve this, we are developing a communication aimed at increasing its awareness and reputation, while working on the related production regulations. We want to simplify and update the local qualitative pyramid, which we imagine is made up of Suvereto Docg and Val di Cornia Doc. One last thought - concludes the new president - goes to my predecessor Nico Rossi, one of the first to believe in quality viticulture, always favor of those values that the Consortium wants to represent”.
