Consortium for the Protection of Abruzzo Wines confirms the board of directors

The Consortium for the Protection of Abruzzo Wines unanimously and with an open vote confirmed the outgoing Board of Directors and the three top positions: the president Tonino Verna and the vice-presidents Enrico Marramiero and Carmine Rabottini. Three new names have entered the BoD: Alessandro Nicodemi, Rocco Cipollone and Angelo Maria Di Giulio, who join the president and vice-presidents and the other confirmed members of the BoD: Rocco Pasetti, Vincenzo Bucci, Velia Di Bacco, Giovanni Ciotti, Giancarlo Eleuterio, Rocco Di Felice, Carlo De Iure, Antonio Marascia, Francesco Labbrozzi.

The shareholders' meeting, in forcefully renewing their trust in the Board, recognized the activity lavished in recent times to protect, enhance and look after the interests relating to the denominations of controlled origin of the Abruzzo region, as well as the social aims of the consortium . Beyond these purposes, carried out through numerous initiatives that will continue in 2013, the assembly outlined new guidelines to promote and implement the supervision of consumption and strategies for regulating the production of some varieties of products.

President Tonino Verna welcomed the results of the vote with great satisfaction: "I thank the assembly for the esteem and the renewed trust for the work done with maximum transparency and maximum sharing with the entire board of the corporate body itself".

The Consortium for the Protection of Abruzzo Wines, one of the largest protection consortia in Italy, is carrying out a major communication project to promote Abruzzo wines and its activities, as evidenced by the strong popularity on the web: it is among the names in evidence on search engines by inserting "consortium protection". The "Montepulciano, pleasure of Abruzzo" communication campaign contributed to this result, which was very successful in the Italian and European media, and the activities carried out both in the cultural field, an example is the Words of Wine international journalistic award , and during the most important international food and wine events including Vinitaly and ProWein in Düsseldorf.

The promotion activities of the Consortium continue in these days with the representation at Vinexpo, the International Exhibition of wine and spirits, which will be held in Bordeaux from 16 to 20 June.
